What is LexSeeHer?
A group of volunteers in Lexington, MA who are establishing the first monument to recognize women’s contributions in Lexington and honoring the work women have done for our community
Purpose of the Student Committee
To encourage students in grades 6-12 (and class of 2021 graduates) to participate in LexSeeHer’s efforts and add youth voices and additional perspective on the issues being discussed
Commitment
Students can be as involved as they choose to be! There will be meetings once a week and students will also work on projects of their choosing on their own time. This is a new committee so the first meeting is still TBD (but will likely be some time in mid-July).
What Will You Be Doing?
Examples of projects include:
-
Participating in discussions regarding topics that are being brought up at town committees
-
Gathering information on monuments in Lexington and finding ways to communicate to residents about the way women are presented
-
Designing social media content to help LexSeeHer make women visible
-
Helping to create fun activities to engage elementary schoolers in the community
-
Anything your creativity allows you to do! Because this committee is new, YOU will be crucial in the construction of our plans!
