ARTIST STATEMENT
I’m fascinated by how the telling of untold stories from the past can inspire our present and future. The transformational power of this monument, the backstory of its creation, and mythology of Lexington all fueled the writing of this play. The first version I wrote can be performed live at the monument. Then I wrote an audio version that you can experience while looking at the sculpture, while on your way there, or even from afar, if you haven’t made it there yet. Consider it an inkling of more to come, or an invitation to visit one day.
